“Janus” The new GUI from the Swipp, Unigrid, & Neutron collective.
If you have been following along in my blogs you have certainly heard me mention a new “electronjs” GUI wallet that replaces QT as a standard. Adam “Chaozer” Waldenberg along with “Dekm0101" (Evan), has over the past year been working on an electronjs based GUI wallet. In my previous blogs, I have outlined some of its features and discussed the dynamic nature in which live web data can be utilized and dynamically presented inside the interface. The possibilities are pretty wide open in terms of how this could be used for many things. For example, a coin explorer, or live market data, or a live exchange. Basically, it could be anything from the web directly in the wallet, and changeable dynamically without the need for hard updates. There will also be more advanced alerts, auto bootstrapping (when needed), and more. If you would like to know more you can check out my previous blogs here.
Initially, for the Neutron version of this wallet, I really wanted to stick with the Sub Atomic Particle realm type of a name like “Atom”. Recently I had realized that Atom is a pretty commonly used name for many things and I was very pleased to discover that the boys had come up with what I believe to be a brilliant solution. I am very pleased to say that the new working name for this GUI has been dubbed “Janus” — after the Greek god of transitions. The Janus wallet will be supported by Swipp, Unigrid, and Neutron initially however, we invite more projects to join the effort as we work on it. The work will be moved to a common repository for anyone to collaborate. Our desire here is to simply do something for the good of our communities and beyond. I am very proud to have friends that do these things for the common good. I really think it would be neat for a platform like vault.investments to use this type of interface with their proprietary coin in local wallets, users could take advantage of the platform without ever leaving their local wallet. I have my own set of plans for Neutron that involves a platform of its own that I call “Fission”. I’ll be discussing Fission in great detail as we get closer to the end of the year and onward into 2021. I am very excited for the future as I work to build an independent platform that really completes the financial circle for Neutron and any other coin we choose to serve. We will be bringing easily understandable, mainstream, utility that ANY person can easily use to the deep altcoin world community, and it's going to be awesome. Neutron is currently running a community drive to gather funds for a Crex24 listing. Since the Cryptopia Heist, Neutron never really recovered. All of Neutron's significant volume in the past was on Cryptopia, our day traders lost their coins in that heist and it has been a difficult road ever since. We need to consolidate and rally into a larger higher traffic exchange and really focus on it. We believe Crex24 is the perfect place for us to achieve this. We love the exchanges we are currently on for different reasons they are all great but lack the traffic we really need to be around. Because Neutron is heavily undervalued at this time we are unwilling to use project fee funds to fund this listing as it would just be totally destructive to the market in the current conditions.
